They can do whatever they want even invade our privacy..I dont agree with the cops watching what I do..I can understand those weird old men trying to hook up with 12 year old girls they need to get caught but still I think a search warrant is appropriate thats a huge invasion of privacy. TFP

well, atleast this is in the UK.  I dont really think this would happen here, so you?

Remote searching can be achieved by sending an email containing a virus to a suspect's computer which then transmits information about email contents and web-browsing habits to a distant surveillance team

i am so darn careful with things i open up, so they would have to get a bit more tricky with me Tongue

This is not only in the UK the case, this is a well known and a controversial political issue here in Germany, too ( for 2 years ), it was even in the Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin one of the hottest topics ( why not, it concerns almost everybody, btw the Codename of the Congress of this year was : "Nothing to hide" Wink ), here is the congress Wiki with lots of useful information to this topic : http://events.ccc.de/congress/2008/

History shows us also which consequences a surveillance society had ( the "Stasi" in East-Germany, the "Gestapo" in Nazi-Germany ), even novels like 1984 from George Orwell shows great examples which where partly realized in former East-Germany. We can count on ourselves lucky, that there are enough people on this world who realize how serious this issue is.
