For several years, Lunarsoft has helped members rid their computers of malware by suggesting a variety of tools. Users would then have to search the internet for these tools and download them separately. The search for the right program can be daunting for some users, and takes valuable time.

Lunarsoft is proud to announce the release of the Anti-Malware Toolkit - a program that automatically downloads all of the recommended programs to help users clean their computers and have them running at peak performance again.

Help keep your computer safe, secure and clean from malware - get the Anti-Malware Toolkit today!

Speaking of freebies,check this LINK

Also in the left pane click on Best-ever Freeware (Home) for non security related programs.

==========

This site might benefit newbies,click on the excerpt below.

What follows is the main list of "rogue/suspect" anti-spyware applications, none of which can be recommended for anti-spyware protection. Be sure to consult the notes  section at the bottom of the list for more information about the list and how it is constructed.....

==========

 MS offers update notifications  via e-mail,if interested click HERE

==========

I was going to mention MBSA but I checked this thread first and noticed that fraggle had had already posted it.

I've used MBSA for quite some time now and find it very convenient.It shows missing updates and updates that are installed,I know,.add/remove shows installed updates,but MBSA shows so much more.I use version 2.0.1 If interested click HERE

I have Webroot Spysweeper and Trend Micro which expires next month so is Lunarsoft going to give me the same protection?

If you're referring to not upgrading to the full version (paid version),or commonly known as "PRO" you may not have real time protection.I know with AVG you lose the resident shield,but you can still scan.You may lose certain  features,such as  automatic updates, scheduled scanning etc.

This link explains real time protection.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_protection

This is the rule of thumb and may or may not apply to all programs.

====================

You might want to consider spyware blaster which is not a scanner but Prevents the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software!

Spyware blaster is a freebie and has no option to upgrade,meaning no trail period that expires.
