Can't run 2009 Norton Virus disc onto computer

does anyone know why this isn't working??  I tried to manually run it and my computer just isn't reading it but it will play cds and will properly play other computer discs and software.  I think my computer is updated currently to Microsoft so I am not sure what to do.  Do any of you have suggestions on what maybe wrong with the drive not reading?

Well my first thought is some corruption with the cd since the drive is working with others. Is this a new purchase you're trying to install? Or is it some live cd version? (Sorry I don't play with norton so not sure if they even have a live cd.) Next thought-is it actually a dvd and u only have cd capable drive? If none of the above applies, can you go email norton with your bar code info in order to get a direct download of the software if the cd is in fact corrupt? And last-if you just purchased this, return it. There are plenty of free AV alternatives out that are better than norton and a whole lot cheaper!
