Hey guys!

Any recommendations for a good and thorough Proxy product?

I haven't used one in years (BOO me!) and need to get on it asap.

Do any of the proxy servers protect your IP when uploading files to a server?  I want to upload photos to a site I've used in the past but they are aggressive with spamming and adverts.  Would like to just avoid all that poo if possible.

I looked at tenebril's ghost surf platinum and Anonymizer but their websites seem short on content.

http://www.torproject.org/index.html.en

I can recommend the TOR Package, it is very easy to controll, it is well documented and it is free.
Are you uploading your photos on a webinterface, or by an ftp-client?
if it is the webinterface, then your traffic goes through the TOR network, but it should also be possible
to get your ftp-transfers through the TOR network, by setting the proxy settings in your ftp-client to
the address of your proxy ( in this case, it is TOR on your computer, thats localhost:<yourdefinedport> ).

thanks for the suggestion, but I am not going to use TOR for anything.  IT's a great concept, but being that its a volunteer network and you have no idea where or through whom your data is going I just don't feel safe with it.

That's why I asked specifically about products available for purchase.  These companies have dedicated secure servers to be used by their clients only.  A lot more protections offered that way.

TOR is pretty cool for surfing purposes, but it also has a lot of room for malicious activity.

guest have you looked at xb browser? The free version uses TOR and is the fastest TOR I"ve ever used. I know you don't want TOR but for others interested, it's built off FF, can use all FF addons, and I can watch streaming vids on it w/o ever feeling the "usual effects" of TOR. It's my go-to browser for getting past the annoying 72 minute limit on megavideo! LOL

But back to you guest- XB also offers their own private anonymization  network as a paid upgrade. Which will get you off of TOR and onto their private network. Not sure what it costs though, since I'm happy with the free version. And if I'm in need of extra protection, cookie blocking, no scripts, and sandboxie have served me well.

And there are still may users keeping Proxomitron alive, and it's free.

Need any creative work done? I recommend Bryan Langdeau. This man's work has been blowing me away since he was 10 years old...

wow, proxomitron has made a lot of proceedings, the last time I used it was ages ago, and it was just a simple webfilter without a gui, today you can set also an external proxy host.
