I was trying to stalk someone on facebook..and instead of using the search button i hit the invite button!! well i don't know the persons email so i just used their sn @aol.com  anyways i was completely freaking out..but since i have aol i tried to send them an email(because i could always unsend it) to see if they have an aol account..and i got this message "we are unable to send this message because this user never logged into their free aim mail account" so the person doesn't have aol..it's just their aim screen name..still of course nervous, i told my friend about it, she's never used her aim mail account either..so she told me to send her an invite on facebook..(i also tried sending her an email and it said this person hasnt logged onto their account) so then she did log on and there was no facebook invite!!! so do you think i'm safe?  do emails only get sent AFTER the person logs on for the first time? does anyone know? i reallllly hope thats the case and that she'll just never get it..any feedback would be great. thanks!!

Well,  I don't know for sure.  Here's the thing though- I did something like that on myspace once, and it actually SENT to their real e-mail, so I understand your fear.  However, she was friends with some of my friends, so I just said I got some crazy virus that sending fake invites to people on my friends list and on friend's of friends lists...sooo you can always make up some weird story like that anyway.  No sense in freaking out now, the "damage" is done, and I don't think you can reverse/cancel something like that, so I mean whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen.  Maybe not making you feel better haha, but if you tried to use their aol mail acct and they don't use it, then chances are they're not going to see it.  Good luck!

AIM is just like Mail.com or any of the other free e-mails: if they have not signed up for it or logged in, the e-mail will not be sent (AIM requires a login initially).  If you really want to stalk someone using their AIM name, goto friendfinder and enter your AIM information at the bottom of the page.  It'll help to see if they have a real profile on facebook.  First, though, you'd have to have them on your AIM buddy list, as that is how the search takes place.  If, though, you just search by screenname, it doesn't work all to well anymore (unless their in your network and don't have the privacy settings set up to not allow 'all users in my network' to access their profile).
