Question, is it possible to block a facebook member who has their profile set to non-searchable?

I know their profile ID number, but I don't see a way to block a person with that info.

THanks

hey, only needed to post the question in here...let me see what I can find, as I've never run into that problem before (you don't have the person's IM name or e-mail, do you?  If so, you can enter them into your e-mail or AIM address and do a friend finder to block them)...

here's one option, however:

go to the Settings on top of the page, then privacy.

Under privacy, select search settings.

Change that to only me or my friends.

Save the setting.

Basically, no one who you aren't friends with can find you, unless you message or befriend them.  This will put, essentially, a block on everyone not in your lexicon of friends.

Thanks Jason.

No, don't have an IM or email.  I do know full name age and probable location but couldn't get anything else.

I don't want to close down my searchability, I'm fairly new on FB and still finding friends/having them find me.

I just want this nutjob blocked because he's good friends with a person that is stalking me and he helps the stalker stalk me.

Still, I'd mess with your privacy settings.  If you take it up one notch, as in only friends can view your profile, then the stalking should almost cease.  You can hide your friends list, hide the send a message, or virtually anything else you want to hide.  Granted, that's counter-active to most of the codes, but, you have to mess with the privacy settings a bit.  Now, here's a cool tidbit: if you can get the person to send you a message, on the bottom, it says 'block this user'.  That may be the only way to block them, as I'm having no luck trying to find out how one could possibly block an unsearchable person...I'm going to try something, though...we'll see if I can come up with a quick code.

ok, try this (I can't guarantee it will work, but I grabbed all the search settings and quantifiers I could real quick): http://www.facebook.com/s.php?q=FIRSTNAME+LASTNAME&n=YYYYYYYY&k=100000020&sf=r&init=q&a=4

the n= is the network id.  If you know what network the person is in, just search a random person, then, in the drop down box, click the network they're in.  It'll give you a link similar to this, but without the block portion.  Look for the n=YYYYYYYY and copy and paste that into this code.  I really hope this works for you.  Again, I don't even know if this will work to block an unsearchable person, as I don't have anyone to really try it on right now...and for those who may think this is some 'code', it, by no means, is; just an attempt to see if we can get an unsearchable person blocked.

I've got things locked down to friends only for all views of my info...but i've left open the send message function.  just closed off the view friends option now too.

thanks for the heads up, interested to see what you find, let me know if there's anything a newb   :Smiley can help with, esp those tedious repetitive things...i'm sadly good at that stuff, haha.

don't know if the target is in a network.  i'm betting they are not.  so I performed 2 search groups.

1. searched the most likely geographical network.  Did 2 searches of 2 people in that network to get the Nid

2. searched 2 people confirmed to belong to NO networks.  simply take out the n=yyyyyyy part of the url and you get the same function for non network profiles.

unfortunately the person didn't show.  but this gives me some ideas to start with...sending you a pm question, thanks so much for helping me, hopefully I can run with this and come up with my first code or discovery on the board Cheesy

hey...about the friend finder through AIM and etc. for unsearchable profiles...that doesn't work to my knowledge.  i've tried people i KNOW to have a facebook and KNOW have their screen name listed, and they do not come up on a friend finder through AIM.  just an observation.

Sus, I did try it on an old screenname I have (we used to have IM wars, so I have something bizarre and ridiculous, like 7 of them); person comes up there and not on regular searches, in spite of having a network and such.  It may be hit or miss, who knows.  I'll probably have to check it out a little better, but, my profile for a long time was unsearchable and a girl I used to date found me on there via the AIM search, which is why I suggested it; geez, I'm making no sense...so cold and trapped under an inch of ice (my car can't open and it's too cold to walk anywhere).
