Featured Friends Privacy

So the new profile shows the people whom you contact most on the left hand side of your profile.  I noticed that my boyfriend, once I told him this, now only has the same eight people show up.  I know he talks to other people more than this, and I think it might have to do with a privacy setting I am unaware of.  I looked every where and can not find it.  I would ask, but I know he changed it becasue he didn't want me to know something, so he won't tell me.
