Something odd sorta happened.  I tried to add a target as a friend, and I got a notification that they added me (the little pop-up in the corner) but when I went to their page, it was still private.  What does that mean? I've  never had that happened before.

could it be that your target added you and quickly deleted you?

had it happen two or three times...sometimes, the pop up tells you they added you, but you have to log out then log back in...it's just a facebook glitch.  Sometimes, though, Cornellweasel is right, could've added you quickly then deleted you.

Thanks for the answers.  I tried logging out but it didn't work. They probably deleted me right after.  I clicked on it literally seconds after I was accepted, but I guess I wasn't fast enough!

My first thought was that they set their privacy settings tighter on you (or the entire friends list you're on). I've done that for a couple of people that I didn't really want to be rude to, but didn't want them seeing absolutely everything (certain photo albums, work & contact info, etc.) Since facebook privacy settings are so granular, just because you're someone's friend doesn't guarantee that you have full access.

I had the same problem.  They confirmed, but they don't show up on my friends list and I don't show up on theirs.  Do I have a setting wrong?
I would really like to make this one work without sending a request again.
