My friend forgot her email/password so she can't log in, but she wants to take her pic down, and the recovery system is apparently useless.

Does anyone know a way of hacking in to take the pic down?
Thanks! Smiley

Curious how she forgot her e-mail to login.  I mean, any e-mail she's ever had on there will allow her to login.  If she forgot her password, they send it to whatever e-mail you give them that is 'registered' with the account.  I don't know how to haq it without bruteforce, but, even then, if you mess up on the password more than 5 times, the account becomes locked.  I'd just say go here (found on a group page on facebook):

Want do disappear from Facebook once and for all?
Here's how!

Go to this page: facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account

Select the checkbox and click "Submit".

You will get an automated response saying Facebook has received your request. After that it will take approximately 2-3 days before your account is actually deleted.

This method is official and should be complete, i.e. no need to delete individual photos, comments, messages or items from your profile or anywhere else on Facebook!

Thanks for the replies!
I'll pass them on Smiley

The "facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account"
was no help as you need to be logged in for that.

My friend has a pile of different e-mails and can't remember which one she used.
She emailed facebook with a list of potentials and they said they couldn't find anything.

If Facebook removes impersonated profiles, then do this--it may work.

Have her report her own profile as an impersonated profile...she will be able to prove 'who she really is' by providing them a photo of herself. Facebook should take it down then after a few or more requests.

They do remove impersonated profiles, but, it takes months.  A buddy of mine and I made one with a pic of Katie Price (an obscure 'actress'; we didn't know who she was until a bunch of British guys started hitting up the profile).  They're really bad at responding to inquiries like that (we even befriended Katie after learning who she was...she thought we were a riot, but some people, after realizing we weren't 'her', got pissed and reported us; took almost 3 months for them to take down our profile).

Another thing she could do is ask a friend who is on facebook (befriended her on there) what e-mail she has on her account in the 'info' section in the 'new' facebook or the contact section in the old facebook.

Excellentmondo suggestion; that should do the trick Grin  Hey msmmpb; does every member have their email address listed for their friends to see?

for the most part...there are privacy settings (such as limited profile, and so on), however, people will usually have at least 1 e-mail listed.

Normal settings even for a limited profile (e.g. if you send someone a message, they can see a 'limited' profile): Basic Info (relationship status if listed, name, bday if listed), Contact info (basic contact, such as e-mail; IM name and Cell are a different setting; plus, sometimes people don't put those in), and Education info.  People tweak this a bit, but, if they send a message, the Normal Limited Profile shows up, not the adjusted profile.

Jason once again, thank you for helping out with your knowledge of facebook Smiley By the way--Do you have a list of facebook urls handy? Maybe we can implement a facebook url brainstorm thread. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, I don't (wish I did...the ajax codes someone listed were patched when Facebook went strictly to php scripts).  The cool thing, and I know we talked about this earlier, was the goodies the m.facebook.com could bring about (the yahoo widget was gone last I checked).  I did get some funky errors when I messed with the script (I'll have to find where I put them, but the wap gets rid of the php for us).  I'll post back what I can find.

ahh, finally, a question with little explaining needed.  Tootie, the easiest way is to right click any of the links to the right of their name (add to friends, view friends, etc.).  In the menu, select copy link location, paste it into the address bar, and, at the very end, it'll say id=xxxxx; that is the friend id.

For example: http://www.new.facebook.com/friends/?id=1234567890.  Honestly, if that's a real friend id, I'd be terrified to be that person; however, you I hope get the idea.
