Question about facebook apps (mainly Likeness/Likeness UNRATED)

Long time lurker, first time poster. Anyways...

I was wondering if in apps that show a person's results and the results of others, does it always display friends and only friends? Or can they set it to show results from everyone in their network?

Specifically, I'd like to know about Likeness/Likeness UNRATED. In the profile box it list a person's quiz result, then it lists their "likeness" with other people based on their quiz results. Are the people listed in their box only friends? Can they change the settings for this?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but if I'm right, then I saw something rather upsetting the other day. I figured I'd ask here before making any assumptions.

Likeness and Unrated list people who were on your friend's list at the time you took the quiz.  I don't think you can view others in your network (but you can click on other friends and see their likenesses...kind of a flaw), unless you alter the id, I believe.  Haven't messed with that app in awhile, though, but, my thought is the box is just people in your friend lexicon.
