Last night, when I attempted to view a person's profile, I got this message instead of their page:
Quote
This profile is undergoing routine maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience!

It stayed that way for awhile, then the profile became available again later in the evening.
This morning, I attempted to view another profile (my target, and a relative and household member of the person in the first incident). I got the same message instead of her page. I'm assuming that her profile page will return just as the first one did -- it just happened so I can't say for sure.

If accessing a profile through Myspace, the web address that shows in the address bar when the "routine maintenance" message appears is http://profile.myspace.com/Modules/Profiles/Pages/ErrorPages/ProfileMaintenance.aspx

Accessing the same disabled profile through HITS on PT results in the person's page (friend ID# and Myspace URL are still there), but with no profile image pic and no other info showing except for whether the page is public/private and the person's online/offline status. Clicking the Myspace URL takes you to the same "routine maintenance" message page as outlined above.

I've never encountered this before, so my question is has anyone else seen this occur? What kind of "routine maintenance" would Myspace do on individual profiles that would temporarily disable the profiles from being viewed? Is it something done on all profiles from time to time, or is there something specific about certain profiles that would get Myspace's attention and require "maintenance"?

This is a new one for me, but maybe it's common and I just never happened onto a profile that was being "maintained" before? Curious as to whether this is something new or not. Huh?

I have no idea what it means, but I have run into it before. I even ran into it with my own profile and was unable to log on for several hours. It isn't uncommon.

They banned one of my photos once. It wasn't even obscene. I swear.

They took off a bunch of photos from me once too.  Funny thing is, it was a bunch of girls with a blowup pink p****s but they didn't take off the ones with the guys holding it.  lmao

Actually sometimes they pick chunks of profiles at a time at any given time and do this.  I usually have found that they will do it more in the wee hours of the night most commonly thought. But I do have a question myself in the last month or so when I log into my account it will pull up the screen that says something like this persons blog is set to private you must be a friend to view then I hit home and it takes me to my profile. 1. I do not have any blogs so there is nothing to be set to private and this has happened a lot why do you think it would do that?

Can't say for sure, but have you tried deleting your cache? When I log in, I get a pretty much blank page, and then have to hit "home."

LOOOOOLZ! Sorry Smiley

Assuming you're using firefox, hit tools>clear private data
In the box that pops up check the things you wish to delete, and click the "clear private data" button.
