Maybe you can create a myspace music site, upload the song on that, then add it to your page?

signing up for a myspace music artist profile is pretty self-explanatory. Just make sure u sign up under a different email address & that u confirm it. When signing up for myspace just sign up under the music artist option & it will guide you from there. It guides you to uploading music files from your hd...just trust me...there are no instructions required. =} It will let you know if the upload was successful or not & then just click on the song & add it to your page like any other music site on myspace.

Or maybe there is another option that I am overlooking besides the myspace option...maybe the mods can help you with that but that is the only thing I can think of....there might be a free music hosting site out there but last time I searched for one the ones I came across were not free...

tootie does the MS music player allow you to add links to music from external sites? If so you can create a free account at fileden.com and upload the song there. If you choose that option, you have to log into your fileden act once a month or they'll shut it down. However, they do send you warning emails to remind you to login. I used them to upload my music occasionally for one of the players I used to use, which then allowed me to input the url to the music. Not sure if the player you're using allows that, but most of them do. If you're using the MS one, I haven't tried that out, but it's worth a shot.

free site: www.mailboxdrive.com (what I used to use awhile back)...gives you a link and you can just put that directly in your profile.  Easiest way I recall on how to do what you're asking, tootie.

anywhere you want...I used to put it in the interests section, but, other people I've seen put it in the about me section.  Just a simple code/player.
