Hey guys i'm new to this but i was wondering if there was a way to find out someones last name on myspace. I met this girl a while back, and i added one of her friends. Well i never added her, but i want to add her but i don't know her last name. It would be akward if i asked the girl who is already on my friends list what her friend's last name was, but i'm sure the girls who i'm trying to be freinds with is one of the top friends with the girl i am already friends with. WHAT SHOULD I DO? i'm completely new to this whole codes bussiness.

there is no way to find her last name. sorry. you can message her and say, "i wanted to add you as a friend, but your privacy setting, isnt allowing me bc i dont know your last name".  thats your only option.

i just tried that and it says you have to be her friend to send her messages, hmmm i read somewhere else that there was something that allowed you to see the information of your friends, including the full names of their top friends? maybe that'd work, but i still have no clue how to undergo this.

Problem solved another member recommended using mobile, and it worked, it still had the security questions but i didnt answer them and pressed enter and it sent it anyway.  god this underground haqer network is crazy, myspace must have their hands full.

i believe this is the thread you were asking about though, it shows your friends full names if you are listed on isearch, as well as some other info about yourself..... or if you are lucky enough to find the person you seek on there, it may list their friends full names, or some of them....

Good deal. You were fortunate to experience a random favorable glitch.

One thing you may want to double check is..
-go to regular myspace
-check your pending friend requests
-make sure it is there in your pending friend requests

If it's not then that means that mobile's glitch did not actually pan out..or the person may have blocked you.
I have fiddled with mobile in the past to find a code for the members to bypass being blocked and/or to bypass spam privacy settings--such as the one you had--and a few times it acted as if it went through but the regular myspace website showed otherwise.

if all else fails maybe you can message your friend that has your friend on myspace to add you? It could work. Just a thought. I have my privacy settings to where I only accept friend requests from people who know my last name & have had a few friends that didnt know my last name message me to add them & I have. But I dont know why she would have such ridiculously private settings...I would never have both "allow only friend requests from people who know my last name" & "only accept messages from people on my list"...then I would miss out.

I have found out some strangers last names by viewing their profiles, friends profiles, comments, (if you can view the comments, there is a lot of hidden treasure) etc. etc.

Good luck to you.

Agreed, that is certainly correct.

@Jezzyfly2007

aabraham5719 also posted this very same query about these annoying privacy settings in Another thread and got some other feedback. Here is a snippet of some of it..

http://she-geeks.com/forum/myspace-private-codes/do-you-have-a-requestidea-for-a-new-code/

i am trying to send a friend request to a girl but it states that you have to know their last name or email adress. I'm already friends with the "target" girl's friend, who didn't have that geek privacy set up. If there was only a way to figure out her last name or send her a message or friend request. Everything is completely blocked until i am her friend, so yeah how would i get around that since the private codes which have only worked so far for me as far as this "target" profile is the video one. There has to be a way to bypass the security question and send a friend request like normal is what i'm saying.

-If their account settings are set to allow invites (default setting is to allow invites) send an invite to them for myspaceIM. In the invite, you can type a message (but as my memory recalls, that won't work if they have it set for only friends to message--but you can check). If you are unfamiliar with how to use myspaceIM invites, there is a thread that contains the info in the thread for seeing private profile songs.
-You can also use myspace apps--some of them allow you to send messages/invites--you will need to test them to see which ones do. If this person doesn't want people to add them without knowing their last name/email--they are likely gonna be freaked out or irked that someone did it anyway.
-I have posted a code that allows you to comment anyone's video channel--they will only see the comment if they frequent their video channel.
-The code I created for commenting anyones blog has been patched--that was a good way to get through to anyone--but no longer works. There is a myspace setting something similar to 'only allow friends to comment my blog' via spam settings, if the profile you are seeking is public and you can see the blogs and they do not have the above setting set--you may be able to get a comment delivered to their blog (but it does sound like the profile is private from your post).
-At the moment, I can't think of a surefire way to get in, since I never have had to try to get around settings such as these. But if the situation allows, try asking the friend that is already on their friends list to "relay the message for you" If the situation allows, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Otherwise, the person is probably gonna be irked and freaked out that someone is trying to get past their privacy setting (although, some people inadvertantly have the setting in place unintentionally--caused by setting their spam settings to the max).

edit: just saw that you got the situation resolved after I posted this. These tips can now be used for other members.

How can I find someone on myspace IM if I don't have their myspace url or email address? Is there a way to do it with their friend id since it's all I have of them? Otherwise I have to look thru hundreds of profiles. Is there a quicker way? Thanks I can't msg them or add them because of their settings or I would.

I did another search on she-geeks: here's what I found:

Quote

here is a shortcut. It will take you directly to that person so that you can add them:

myim:addContact?uID=xxxxx&cID=xxxxxx

-first set of x's is your ID, Second set of x's is their ID
-Log into myspace IM and then navigate to a page that lets you enter in a url in the address bar and enter in the above shortcut.

If they have the 1.0 profile you can just click and drag their profile pic into your IM box and it will add them.  I dont think that works on the 2.0 because it has the url in the basic info module box, you can click and drag it the same as the profile pic and it will add them.
