Have profile set to public but it shows as private?

Hi i'm new to this site, my name is billy, and not really a computer nerd or know much bout coding, so read this thread to see how and contribute.

Well i know this is not much, lol but for some reason my profile has been coming up as private, but when i just checked account setting, it is viewable by everyone, so yeh don't know what that means but that is all i have at the moment.

is your age under 14 or is it 15 thats only automatically private..Im not sure why its coming up private if you have it set as public and your age is over 18

nah currently 17. is set to" everybody"  mm, only been for last few days. only if worked the other way. Where if i selected only friends can view it, everyone could view it, well of course for me viewing other profiles though, lol. So if i have any glitches or thing i should post here right??

EDIT: Just changed setting to friends only, then back again to everyone, and nothing had changed, anyone else having this problem. Not like bothering much, lol just wondered if it could lead to something.

Are you sure that the date of birth you entered when you registered puts your age at 17?

Just adding or changing text on your page to say "I'm 17" won't change the
age that your DOB has you pegged at. If the original DOB has you as 15 or under, your profile will automatically be set to private, no matter what age you claim to be elsewhere on your page.

I have a minor daughter who tried stating her age as 17 when she's not (I made her change that right quick), but the profile didn't switch from private to public, since she had used the correct DOB when she registered.

no sorry, lol i didnt mean i changed my age. im not that clueless. i ment i changed if i wanted to to be private or not. loriginally i didnt. and it showed as a public profile until bout 2 days ago. few hours ago i changed the privacy to show only to friends and then back to show "everyone" and still nothing, so i don;t no, lol all good not a big deal just thought i would mention.. thankyou

I don't really understand what you were trying to type but I think I know what the problem is. There is a box in your settings that you can uncheck & if the person isn't over 18, well then they see your profile as private even if you have it on public. Because the person has to be logged in (as over 18) to see your profile. So you need to check that box in your account settings. Does anyone know what Im talking about? I may have got it mixed up a little.
