Ok I have a couple of questions LOL

What do you "geek" geniuses think about 2.0? Is it safe from average Joe Blow?

Also, my tracker keeps picking up cell phone hits... makes me think my stalker can see something I don't want them to... So my next question is does 2.0 have a glitch concerning viewing of profiles in as far as seeing friends and/or comments? I went to my page from my phone, but I couldn't see anything except the allowed content... but that doesn't really mean chit right?

I updated my page to it, but hid all of my modules. I'm running into a problem though.. everybody keeps talking about a pencil and how I can make certain parts of my profile viewable to my friends or public... How do I do that?!! I've looked in my friends groups and then I went to customize profile. WTF?!! Every module I have hidden is also hidden from my friends even the add comment part Huh?

Be nice and break it down for me  Huh? I understand the CSS and HTML. I just don't understand 2.0 and what all it can do.... sheesh! I should go back to 1.0 LOL

go to customize profile, scroll down at each of the modules and you will see a pencil on the top of each module. click and choose your setting. then make sure you hit "publish". otherwise, your settings wont show.

its okay. i prefer 1.0, but i see alot of exploit potential with it. i think its also going to help people understand css & html too Wink

I have come to love profile 2.0. The problem I think with so many people is they dont want to take the time to even try & read the instructions, or they dont like to try to figure new things out, or maybe they hate change. I never noticed how messy & crappy so many peoples profiles were until 2.0 came out. It really cleaned it up nicely. Some people have so much crap on their profile you have to wonder who actually takes the time to scroll through that mess...some of my friends profiles have so much junk that it takes forever to load on my high-speed roadrunner connection. I avoid their pages at all cost. 2.0 loads so much faster, its like a favor to your visitors. I wish people who have 5 yards of junk on their page would upgrade because NOONE wants to go to a slow page like that...

There are some helpful websites for the 2.0 newbie. try these:

&

THANK YOU JUSTY!!!!  I know what I was doing wrong now. I was trying to click the boxes at the top of the page instead of the ones down below on my profile DUH why didn't I think of that LOL

Also thank you Jezzy! Those sites are tremendously helpful. Yea, I use to know somebody who had one of those pages and I said **** that! It would take at least 20 minutes to load and I have high speed too. I have always secretly wondered if those pages were full of viruses. Shocked

I have hitslink.com and it tracks every person who looks at my page. It doesn't nesscessarily tell who is looking, but it gives me the IP which I can manipulate. Other people who have hitslink that look at your page will show up on your tracker.

Chicago, Illinois, US
12.345.678.199    12/18 9:37:58 PM   5   Cellco Partnership DBA Verizon Wireless   Private   Private

This is what a hit off my tracker looks like... keep in mind though I changed the IP because I'm sure the mod wouldn't want me to post it.

Justy~

I know you said that there is no code at the moment that will allow a person to look at the 2.0 profiles. However, what I want to know is does 2.0 show up differently on m.myspace.com? I tried to look at my profile via my phone without logging in and it show up the way it was suppose to. It only had the 2 modules I had open. If I want to use mobile myspace I have to log in and that defeats the purpose of me trying to look at my profile. I have this suspicion that using mobile will allow a person to look at friends, blogs, and comments, and possibly pictures if they are logged in on mobile and the Target has 2.0.

Can you tell me how to check this out and verify my suspicion?

Also, I'm wondering, is there any way I can block a particular IP from coming onto my profile? I have seen things about blocking anybody who isn't your friend, but I'm more so wondering about 1 IP in particular. I don't want to block everybody LOL

make up a quick fake profile and log into it from mobile to view your real one. If you have PT there is a code to block by IP addy, but read the forums over there. There are some issues with PT codes and 2.0 so u should verify that code would work on a 2.0 profile.

As a quick FYI, for some reason, newer profiles using 2.0 show the full name of people.  It may be a glitch, may have been mentioned before, but, just want to make people aware of this (it was only on people who JUST accessed 2.0).

What is PT? Sorry I am having blonde moments today...  Grin

Also, in the 2.0 under contact information there is a box that you have to make sure is unchecked. It will say show full name uncheck it and save it and your full name won't show up.

2.0 is new - so it brings about many new questions. Say you have a stalker and like to stay private...you did all the "friends only" changes but you want to make sure that nothing is viewable... Well if your profile was private when you made the switch to 2.0 then you should be good.  If it was public and you switched and then marked some areas private then there is a loop hole that works on about 50% of them. Not really a loophole but rather - you can see the parts they didn't check to private.

wasn't sure if i should start a new thread but since it's anout MS 2.0 here goes

a person who i know used to have MS 1.0 and always had their page private, they just changed to 2.0 and most of their page is being seen about me, stats, commets so im guessing they didnt know they had to make every section private.

what im wondering about is the comments, i can see them but if i try to view all it tells me i must be a friend to view the pictures. if first 50 comments are showing why cant i see them all?

any thoughts... Smiley
