myspace mobile (general questions)

hey! ok i apologize if these questions have already been asked, i just spent alot of time searching through many topics n threads but could not find my answers......

re: myspace mobile (using it while ON my cell phone), i have verizon, whatever browser they use (says V.3.0.22.2.9).....thought i saw somewhere on here that i can add firefox to my mobile? is that possible? or am i stuck with whatever browser verizon uses? sorry if thats a lame question, i really don't know much bout this......and then, while using myspace mobile (while ON my cell), can i still be tracked? are their tracker blockers that you can use on ur mobile? any other myspace mobile tracker info. would be greatly appreciated as well! thanks so much!!!   

p.s. i did just read on here though that i can access mobile.myspace on a reg. computer too, not just the cell, cool, i didn't know that.....is there any major advantage to using that on the comp. rather then regular myspace?

Regarding mobile on a cell. A lot of your questions are dependent on the phone you're using. Is it a regular phone with a wap browser? If so, then you're (almost) stuck with the browser they provide. If it's a smartphone with PIE then yes you have options with your browser. Minimo is one of those options-but so far I haven't read good reviews of it. I check on it say every 6 months or so, so it could have been improved in that time. If you are looking for a better browser for a smartphone, try OperaMini (free - and can also be used on a Wap phone although last I tested it with Verizon it had to be hacked a bit), jB5, or my current fave Skyfire (which requires u be approved for the beta testing)

As to tracking - since mobile does not load images other than ones directly supplied by myspace, you  need not worry about being tracked on mobile. However, if using a smartphone, be sure you are actually on the mobile site and not regular myspace (which works with a smartphone) as if you accidentally go to the regular site you will be tracked.

As to advantages of using mobile on the pc over regular myspace...unless you are using it for a code that is still functioning-then no, there is no advantage. Mobile is restricted, so a lot of the "regular" myspace stuff you might want to access in a regular myspace session won't be available.

no. no tracking, but if your person has PT & you click on their pic, you are screwed. they can get your mobile token, which will show as a referring URL. they can then access your account at anytime. your person may have gotten suspicious & just put it on private. they prob just had a hunch is all.

It seems (possibly) the only way is to use your own personal tracker and check referral urls for people who hit your pic tracker on myspace mo bile.
