"OpenSpaceEditor is a MySpace OpenSocial JavaScript application that is a simple program editor/debugger/wizard for MySpace OpenSocial applications. It generates and can run basic data retrieval code for the MySpace OpenSocial JavaScript API. Changes you make in the top window will be executed when you press the Run Code button, so it helps speed up development by letting you work interactively with the MySpace OpenSocial container."

ok, i think this is the right board now...... /crossesfingers
anyone know any good places to learn aabout making myspace apps? like legitamitely? and is ping the same open social network as myspace? i thought id apply to be a developer to help me along with my computer language courses, and i got approved but i dont understand if theyre just gonna give me codes to copy and alter or if i need to learn how to write my own......
not sure if i shoulda even said that last paragraph lol, i cant seem to find a rules or codes of conduct concerning whats not ok to post, like house of hackers? anyone know how reliable is there or if theyre so far behind us its not even worth combing monthly?
i know links to certain places are off limits, i hope im not crossing lines again
i m glad yall let me keep posting though and learnin and im sure ill have the hang of it all before too long!
thanks again,
glad i found this community!
post addition, 2:30
i have installed the app mentioned earlier onto my myspace but i have no idea what im gonna do with it lol, i read the about, but is there a simple tutorial just for the app? i been lookin in the developer forums but it almost doesnt seem i belong there yet... ive never touched javascript(i know its basic idea though) and i understand the networking between the servers to make myspace safe and all, but where does one learn the basics? i cant claim im even that good, i stopped my html years ago and have been relearning that easy enough along with xhtml, and css should i even bother with dhtml still? apparantly i missed that entire generation..... the courses im taking are through skillport.com, something unemployment signed me up for years ago and have let me keep cuz i got like twenty certificates in alot of their simple ones like troubleshooting networks, troubleshooting operating systems, using operating systems and browsers then non computer ones like business etiquette, and critical thinking skills... im also doing web design/development and online branding, but as far as the codes are concerned are any prerquisites for the other? like should i put off java till i know xhtml and css pretty well? any info will help, i havent been able to find almost anything........

didn't Patrick tell you to try w3schools.com for info? A lot of your questions will be answered there in terms of which languages are prerequisites for others. And the tutorials/classes they offer are free and good. And yes, you will need to learn javascript to be able to develop an app.

i knew i would need java, but my question was do i need xhtml and css first since java kinda "surrounds" them in the code.... and if i still need to catch up on dhtml, or can i just do xhtml instead? or can i just go straight for the money and learn java now, without even having to learn them except whats gonna come naturally in java? if someone says "just learn java, css and xhtml will fall into place" i will do that, cuz im one of those types of people who learns fastest that way
sorry i know my questions are getting monotonous, you guys are great for helpin a noob like me
i'll still ask questions but i'll try to keep em more high level!
update 4:05 just went to that site and
THANK YOU! i can tell im about to be there for a while!

Again - reading on w3schools will tell you everything you are asking here.

Wow, wish I were already smart enough to understand how this would be fun. My learning curve has been out of sight since joining She-geeks. Of course, it's more fun than real work and that has not been high on the priority list. Thanks for exercising my brain.
