Do you think that there is a way to make a fake "truth box" by having something on the page that looks just like the real one, but shows who left the "anonymous" comment?

That's a great idea-and probably is doable. You could probably make the fake box with a div, not sure how you'd get it to send the comment though since ms is such a biotch with not allowing javascript. The only thing I can think of is to link the box to another page off site, where you can set up something that will pull cookie info-or require a myspace login to post the comment. It would be sort of like phishing, but the phish page would not look like a myspace page, it would look like a truthbox page. There would be a lot of people stupid enough to fall for it.

Okay, so i have read about people creating fake truth boxes just by using comment boxes and such, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would never fall for that seeing as it goes to the "confirm comment" page. I was just curious as to the best way to make one, if there is a different one. Such as a MESSAGE box instead of a comment box, so that it sends you a message instead. Or a way to bypass the confirm comment page. I've been trying to figure out a way to make one & i have already made images to put above & below the text box to make it look just like a truth box, but I cannot figure out how to get this to work. I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I was searching for it all morning & couldn't find one! Thank you!

If you want to know who sent you the anonymous comment on your truth box, put a tracker in the reply box. (you will need to test it out with different trackers for one that works)

Then you will need to cross reference the IP and other info to figure out who it is.
Think outside the box, lol.

Not sure about a message box ( I will poke around and see if I can find one). However- a few instant messaging services allow you to put message boxes on your profile. If you could hide the box with a div to look like a truthbox-or use the code sample to create your own message box somehow--that would be something to look into.

@jemeline

When someone sends you a truth box message and you want to know who sent it to you, put a tracker in the "reply" box.

They are these new apps on myspace. Like a comment box. It sends you a message from the poster, but it doesn't identify the poster-so it's anonymous. Also called "honesty boxes." As you can see, there are many circumstances when one would want to know who the sender is! LOL

I just added the truth box to  my profile. Where would I find a tracker to add? Also, does this show if my page is private?
gracias!!

It will only show to the people who can view your page. You would use one of the tracker codes you are using on your profile, so the hits will show up with your others. Also, if I remember correctly from Patrick's and my tests, you have to use some text and then insert the tracking code. Mind you, this can only happen when you reply to a message sent to you.

The truth box is a wonderful tool used for calling people names and cyber bullying. Ahh is that the smell of a depressed teenager? Oh and I am soo going to try this. Thanks Patrick!

@ Jewels:
 So make sure im doing this properly. I am installing the truth box. when someone sends a comment i can reply with a tracker code? I have multiple trackers with mixmap so do you think that would work well? And will I need to create a new tracker everytime i reply to someone? thanks.

Correct. And no you could probably re-use the same tracking code, unless you get multiple truth posts per day and want to distinguish them.
