I was going to message him but it came up "you have to be * friend to send * a message. Then I tried my fake account, and that message never came up, it went straight to the bit where you write the message :]
In the past you could easily see who has you blocked by just sending them a message or a friend request and if it wasn't in your outbox then you would know that you were blocked.
Then myspace started the feature "you have to be someones friend to message them" So now you cant distinguish if you are actually blocked or not. But there are a few ways..
Send a friend request and if it goes through then you know that you are not blocked. However, if they are prone to blocking you and you send them a friend request--then you are most likely gonna get blocked at that point. lmao.
Here's more info from Jewels:
There is no code for that at present. But you can test it yourself a few ways. Sending a friend request is the easiest since, you can cancel it. Once you send someone who has you blocked any type of communication, it will appear as though it was sent, but when you check your outbox-it won't be there. Bear in mind though, that if the person has notification emails turned on, they will get one saying you have requested them if you are not on their block list. If you are blocked this wont happen. So you're taking a chance.
One thing I thought about last year in regards to this issue is--as Jewels said, if they have email notifications turned on they will see that you have sent a friend request. If you want to know if you have been blocked but you dont want to risk them knowing its you that sent a friend request--simply alter your profile temporarily. Change the display name, change default picture, set it to private, etc. Make the friend request and see if it goes through. If it does go through then you know that you have not been blocked.
Assuming that they are not gonna accept the friend request, simply cancel the friend request and change your info back.
There is only two more ways that they will bust you
-if they hit reply on the email notification, they can see your friend ID at the end of the "reply to box"
-or if they take note of your friend ID and take a peek at you later after you have altered your profile back to how it was. You may want to make your profile so unappealing that they wouldn't care to take note of your friend ID. lmao.
*most people wont go as far as what was mentioned in the above paragraph to bust you. But some will.
