Sent Myspace Friend Requests

I'm wondering this: When you send out a friend request does it stay in the sent requests folder forever, or does myspace delete them after a certain number of days?  I sent a request to someone and it has been outstanding for a little over a month, however when I looked today it was gone, which would make me think they had denied my friend request. But the weird thing is that person has not logged in since January 2010.  I emailed myspace about it and they said it may be a glitch. 
And secondly, is there a way for this person to deny the friend request without logging into their Myspace account? (such as mobile/cell phone)

This is a good question, my ex sent me a friend request on myspace but I never added him, Im not sure if he canceled the request or if myspace deleted it. But Im guessing after a month or more you may need to resend the request. Im not 100% sure but I dont think there is a way for someone to deny your request if they havent logged on
