Shocked When you log onto your Myspace page, a box is there informing you of the new "My Visitors" feature, with this message:

Quote
My Visitors is here!

We've added a new feature called My Visitors that allows you to see who's viewing your profile and allows other users to see when you're viewing their profile. See who's checking out your profile by clicking 'Accept' and then finding the My Visitors module on the right side of your Home page.

This feature is completely optional, so if you prefer to browse anonymously, just click 'No thanks.'

Accept  * Remind me later    * No Thanks

The module for it is on the right-hand side of the Myspace home page, in between "Recommendations" and "My Stuff."

You can turn it on & off at will.

It does work, if you and the page you are visiting both have the feature enabled. I checked it out with my real MS page and my fakespace, visiting one page from the other. It shows the last 9 visitors your page had, including the profile name & pic. These are clickable, they'll take you to the person's page. There are no dates or timestamps to the tracks, just the linked name & pic. It looks so far like multiple visits from the same person are not shown, the nine display spots are for nine different individual users.

HITS is tracked also, viewing a page through there shows a profile track for "Hits" -- a 26 year old male in the US. Turns out that FB (HITS' owner) forgot he even had that profile!

So, beware the new Myspace tracker of Myspace's! I keep mine turned off except for testing purposes.

Can this be added to the she-geeks tracker blocker??
There's no URL to it that I can discern, it's a Myspace module, so I haven't listed it in the thread for posting new trackers.

I'm hoping that it isn't faulty and apt to track even if the visiting user has theirs turned off. This new function is NOT a good development, in my opinion!  Angry

I am not fond of FB I wish people will migrate back to Myspace lol. I saw this feature and I tested it I dont know why its not working for me. I dont see any users on mine even when I enabled it on two different profiles.

This tracker only shows pic not the IP of the person correct. I keep it disabled as well

gia66, it only works when you have it enabled AND the person visiting your page has it enabled, too. If any visitor to your page doesn't have it turned on at their end, they won't show up on your page even if you have yours on. Likewise, if yours is off no tracking occurs on your page and nobody who visits your page during that time will show up even after you turn it back on.

That's the premise, anyway -- I hope it doesn't have bugs to it that might show tracks on occasion even when a visitor has theirs turned off.  Huh?

Correct, it doesn't show IPs, just the profile pic & user name (and it links to the tracked profile).

Following peekaboo, I'll ask a question as well: What happens if you visit a profile's page (pictures page, video page, etc.), without going through the main profile page?
