My target recently made their profile public and inserted a tracker. Is it possible to view Myspace desktop version on a cell phone and not get tracked? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you are using mobile. I had a couple of friends who used mobile and I never tracked them on PT--nothing--no IP or anything. However, one of them switched to a better phone and began using regular myspace on their phone (instead of mobile) and I then tracked her phone--as Paul said. But, I wouldn't have known it was her if I didn't trace it back to comments, since the IP read as coming from two states away.

Mobile doesn't use images as of now - you cannot be tracked on mobilemyspace. If you use myspace.com on a cell phone then yes you can be tracked. Hope this helps. Use a proxy - which I have to do from work - it will mask your ip if you are worried about tracking. No need to worry though because your target cannot track you if you use mobilemyspace.

It seems (possibly) the only way is to use your own personal tracker and check referral urls for people who hit your pic tracker on myspace mo bile.

Likes Spiders, you said that you can track your friend's visit to your website on PT even when she uses her phone- are you aware of any other tracking sites that could possibly show any information about a visitor using a phone?

My target recently upgraded their phone and I know that they view my page and it's really bugging me that I can't know when they're visiting! lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Not if they are using mobile. What I meant, if I wasn't clear, was that more and more phones are better at internet browsing and users aren't using mobile to log in on their phones. If they are using their phones, but logging in on regular myspace, they will be tracked, but if they are using mobile, not PT nor anyone else will track them.

Also, they are tough to track even if they log in to regular myspace because the IP that will appear will be wherever their regional cel provider is--in my case, two states away. But, it will tell you if they are using Sprint, T-Mobile, etc. and basically what type of phone (comes up in their browser) they are using--IPhone, Sidekick, etc.

All of this, though, provided that they are using regular myspace on their phone and not mobile.

I have read on here that there isn't a way to track people on myspace if they are using mobile myspace.  I also tested it out from my blackberry.  So here's my question...is there a way to block someone from viewing my profile from mobile myspace thus forcing them to use the internet from their phone and therefore tracking them??

Thinking out of the box here people!   Wink

Unfortunately I don't believe there is. Since custom html and images won't show, there isn't a way to block the profile from mobile.

It's really frustrating that they targets view from Mobile to not be tracked... wish there were a way to tell.

I recently upgraded to PT and I love it.  Although, I'm having a little trouble getting the click tracker to work.  Found out that my target was viewing my site through the desktop version on her phone, however, she rarely uses the desktop version and almost always uses the mobile version.

Wish there was a way around the mobile site...

With my blackberry I have myspace on there but I prefer to use the browser.  With the browser, I can view more than with the mobile version.  And I know my target isn't tech savvy AT ALL so it's just weird that he would check my page with the browser and then switch to the mobile app...

darn it all!

steal his phone and remove myspace!  Hahahahaha

only kidding!   Grin

Yeah the pocket browsers show more than can be seen from the mobile only site or from the app in terms of images and such. You can track a mobile browser because they will load the image files. Mobile site, and the app will not.

Ok let me see if I'm understanding all this. If I'm viewing a myspace page by just putting the url into the browser on my phone but not actually logging into myspace I can still be tracked?
