Blocked On Gtalk?

Does anyone know if someone blocks you on Gtalk, can you still see their profile picture?

Also, I downloaded the Pidgin thing and for this certain someone it says ***.***@gmail.com

But, it doesnt say their actual name like some of my other contacts do.
