considering the paltry amount of viruses and malware targeted towards linux, it's not a half bad idea.
But being in a job atmosphere where ridiculous amounts of money are spent on windows and office-money that could fund far more productive endeavors, I am of the mindset that the public sector should rely only on open source. Then I would be forced to actually fully learn linux instead of just playing with it now and then.
