yea, def sounds like you have a virus freezey!!!   especially since you said our forum has been looking weird.  if adware doesnt pick anything up...please try another scanner. i believe you have one & it may get thru adaware.

HI , I would just like to add that the page turning white and the jagged edge look , like the page was ripped away really quick , has been happening to me here for sometime now . Also , when I go to start , turn off computer , restart , it doesnt . It says saving your settings , then windows is shutting down , but it never does . I've scanned My PC with a few different programs and It allways comes up clean . I'm sorry , didnt mean to start in on my problems in your post , but the white ripped page thing just got me wondering . But if any one can help me with my restart issues I would appreciate it . windows XP sp2 , all updated . Thanks , and you can move this to its own post and edit it if you want to .

hmmm...i will look into this page issue, but maybe its both of yours current OS....i know you said its updated and all, but i havent heard any other issues like the both of yours.

cee:
are you sure its not shutting completely off?  for example, some people think the light on the monitor is supposed to go off too, when it doesnt. im sure you already know that...im just sayin. so do you have to manually turn your comp off everytime?

yes , I have to shut it down manually every time or it just sits there . Blue screen with the windows logo saying it is shutting down , never does . Other than that , I dont think I have seen any other odd things happening . Well , I have been losing my connection alot lately and I have to reboot to make it stay connected . I tried to take a screen shot of the white ripped page lookin thing that happens here but I'm not fast enough to get  Grin. It happens in a flash when going back to the post list . Scanning with panda now , see how that goes . Thank you .

@ freezey & ceejaye

Sometimes event viewer will give a clue.

Go to start>run>eventvwr

In the left pane highlight one at a time, application, security and system and check the right pane for errors.

Sometimes add ons will cause issues.,they can be disabled as a test.Believe it or not,i've suggested on more then one occasion to delete temp files, cookies and re boot and it worked, but only sometimes  Wink

I would run some scans, but in safe mode.In addition to scanning with an AV also try an anti spyware.

How to disable add ons,IE>tools>manage add-ons>high light add on in question>tick disable

Try safe mode with networking, does it still close.

This sound like a lack of RAM.  Push ctrl+alt+delete click the performance and see how much RAM you're using up.  Also check processes to see which processes are using up a lot of memory.  Then of course you have to close unnecessary processes.
