I agree with Hinderman, it could possibly be a RAM issue. Ask yourself these questions..Have any recent changes been made to the PC? Do you have the minimum amount of RAM recommended for your OS? If you are unfamiliar with the process of adding RAM physically..you can use virtual memory--turning hard drive space into more RAM..but use with caution and know what you are doing. If indeed, it is a RAM issue, and you decide to install some more RAM physically..be sure to ground yourself, etc etc as I'm sure you are aware of. Also sounds like a virus possibly.
